A chair that helps you get out of it

One of the things I've seen my grandparents struggle with the most is simply getting up, out of a chair. Knees get weak. It's hard for them to support all the bodyweight getting lifted out.

I built the most basic version of this with a few friends for my school's science fair in 2017.

It was a hot water bag inside a cushion, attached to a bicycle pump. When someone sitting on the chair wanted to get up, we pushed air in through the bicycle pump and the cushion lifted up at an angle to help them get up easily. I want to build an actual production version of this! Pretty simple idea but I think it’d help a ton of elderly folks
